Camden Crawl ticket sale and Variety Club Launch

Camden Crawl 2012 launches with a series of free Variety Club Nightsof cutting-edge music and comedy to coincide with the release of early-bird discount tickets for the annual festival, which takes place throughout Camden over May-Day weekend next year.

The inaugural Varity show, featuring live music from Young Legionnaire the indie super-group of Bloc Party’s Gordon Moakes and Yourcodenameis:Milo’s Paul Mullen, cinematic bar-room indie-poppers Two Wounded Birds and comedian Phil Nichol, takes place at the Star of Kings pub on Wednesday October 26.

Completing the line-up, for what organisers are calling “four nights out in one” is Paul Guided Missile’s legendary Rough Trade Pop Quiz (it’s like Mastermind but you can win a multipack of crisps rather than an empty glass bowl), bearded funny-man Tiernan Douieb, and DJs Good Girls Gone Bad.

Discounted early-bird tickets for the Camden Crawl go on sale the same day (£10 cheaper for a limited period), and will allow access to venues throughout Camden as well as outdoor stages, a range of story-telling and spoken word events and fringe theatre. There are even plans for an ‘Alternative Pub Olympics’ – details are sparse but it sounds much more enjoyable than having to run and jump or whatever it is that sports people do….
