Speakeasy Sunday at Hideaway…nice

Steatham’s set to swing to the sound of a deep-south speakeasy with the launch of a bi-monthly Speakeasy Sunday jazz night at Hideaway. It has the nod of approval from New Orleans voodoo maestro Dr John.

Roaring RnB and New Orleans Jazz and funk will be on the menu from 6 November at the stylish South London jazz club, with live music and a specially created creole menu with added “Big Easy” atmospherics provided by Jazz FM DJs.

Playing live at the launch night is Diz “Honey Bear” Watson whose barrel house piano and New Orleans  boogie led Dr John to say: “Diz is great, you can’t fool him. He really can play that piano.” Diz be backed by steamy funk jazzsters The Doormen….
